Explanation In Pursuance Of Books Midnight Sins (Midnight #2)

Cara Maloan doesn’t look like a monster. In fact, the gorgeous blond nightclub singer possesses heavenly attributes that make Atlanta detective Todd Brooks sure there’s a higher power somewhere. But a twisted killer is leaving a trail of bodies in seedy hotel rooms across town. The male victims show no wounds–it’s as if the life was simply drained from them. And right now, mysterious Cara is Todd’s only suspect.

Cara knows it’s foolish to be so drawn to a man who thinks she’s a murderer. She also knows Detective Brooks would find the truth even harder to swallow. Cara is one of the Other, a race of powerful, paranormal creatures who live among humans. Cara’s particular abilities make men putty in her hands–all except this rugged, sexy-as-hell detective. But now someone, or something, has singled Cara out for serious payback…

As uneasy trust gives way to mind-blowing desire, Cara and Todd will go head-to-head with a killer whose mission is deeply personal, and who’s determined to serve up revenge that’s hotter than hellfire, and just as deadly…

Assess Based On Books Midnight Sins (Midnight #2)
Detective Todd Brooke, Colin's human partner that we first met in Hotter After Midnight, is about to come face to face with Atlanta's hidden world; where demons, witches and vampires exist, unbeknownst to mere humans. He's also about to meet his match in a woman with surprising secrets: When male victims start to show up dead in seedy hotel rooms across town - with no other wounds than a handprint directly over their hearts - Todd and his partner are baffled. It's as if the life has simply been

Cynthia knocks it off of the bookshelf again! My bookshelf of Eden is a keeper, with no snakes, but plenty of temptation at every turnof the page that is(ha!) I have been on a Cynthia Eden kick lately and have read almost all of her paranormal series, loving every single one of them! But I think that this series is my favorite (so far). It starts off with Hotter After Midnight with Dr. Emily Drake & Detective Colin Gyth, continues on with Midnight Sins featuring Detective Todd Brooks (Colins

3.5 starsAlthough it may not be reflected in my rating, unlike most readers I actually enjoyed this one more than the first book (Hotter After Midnight). I felt the characters were a little better developed in this one, and the insta-lust trope which featured again was at least better explained and therefore understandable. I also felt the suspense plot didnt overshadow the romance.Unfortunately, I must use the term romance very loosely, because the very reason for the insta-lust working is the

IntriguingThe most positive way to write about the trust and instinct a person in love has for another, no matter what evidence kept finding Todd always stood by Cara.

1.5utterly ridiculous...

This review was posted at Under The CoversI enjoyed the first book in the series ok, and this book ended up feeling a bit the same for me. I do feel there's a recurring theme so far of "cop" falling in love with "main suspect" in a supernatural murder investigation, and I'm glad the next book is a bit different. This time around we meet Cara, a succubus who hates who she is and what she does, so much that she's decided to remain celibate, and she gets the energy she needs to survive from the

I liked this story one star more than the first in the series, Hotter After Midnight, because my issue with the first book was resolved in this one. This story is about Cara Maloan, a succubus who is not interested in preying on the lust of men, and Todd Brooks, a hard a$$ed detective on the Atlanta police department. The story begins with a string of murders, the last one pointing directly at Cara as the murderer. Todd and his partner, Colin Gyth, the hero from Hotter After Midnight, come to Cara
